Contribution guidelines

OTW is a collaborative project in which the plurality of the voices would offer a broad panorama of the values and significances of travelling beyond the simple recreational activity. We are convinced that collaboration is a key value to improve our personal creativity and the content of this web zine. This makes us constantly look for contributions both by publishing and sharing at OTW the works of others and contributing ourselves to other interesting projects, especially related to art and travelling.

Our works and ideas are shared under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International License. to give our contribuition “to build a more equitable, accessible, and innovative world“.

You could send us just one of your work or join the crew on a more regular basis. You find a contact form to send your work and a licence agreement at the bottom of the page.

If you need more info or any clarification about this project, please, feel free to Click here

At the beginning of every page of OTW you find a brief introductions that will tell you which kind of words we are looking for. Please read our presentation too. Generally our articles range from 200 up to 2500 words. Nonetheless a good writing has no boundaries…

We do not use an automated system reply. We write you back as soon as we have read your work. There are thousands of valid ways to write about travelling and we do not think there is the best to do it. That’s to say: refusing your work is not a judgement of its quality. We would only publish content in-line with OTW’s philosophy, to keep its special flavour.

Use the form at the bottom of the page to send us a zip folder containing:

  • the text in .pdf
  • at least 1 significant quality picture in .jpg format
  • brief author bio plus picture unless you want to be an anonymous writer.
  • Link to your web/facebook or whatever else you would promote buy submitting your article
An awesome subject captured with a perfect technique will produce a picture of great beauty but without a strong message it will remain an aesthetic exercise. We look for picture that can melt with our words, not to show but to enlarge the significances as that stone falling into the lake makes wider and wider circles. Challenging and fun is the other way round: send a picture and we will write a story for it.

Every month we publish a gallery about related to travel’s topic. The galleries go with a short text to enlighten the topic and give to our readers food for thought. You can propose a topic, or write the text for the gallery, or collect the pictures, or send the complete job (much nicer).

Use the form at the bottom of the page to send us a zip folder containing

  • your pictures in .jpg format
  • brief author bio plus picture unless you want to keep yourself as an anonymous.
  • Link to your web/facebook you would promote buy submitting your picture
  • In case of a gallery the text in pdf format.
